Lime’s electric shared scooters
Lime believes that everyone, anywhere in the world, should have access to smart and affordable mobility. Lime’s shared scooters give commuters and tourists in (big) cities a green alternative to motorised transport.
Using the three-step ‘Locate, Scan, Ride‘ model, the vehicles should offer flexibility especially for short-distance transport.
How do you use a Lime scooter?
Download the Lime app and link a payment method. Then go through the following steps to start your ride:

Tip: You can also spot and unlock the Lime scooters through the Uber app. You don’t need to download the Lime app then.

What does it cost to use Lime?
To use Lime, you pay a starting rate and a rate per minute. On average, you pay a starting rate of £0.87 and £0.13 per minute for using it. For a 15-minute ride, you will then pay £2.83.
Please note that fares can vary from city to city.
Tip: take advantage of free credit
Through the Lime app, you have the option to share your personal reference code with someone. This personal code can be found in the app’s menu under the heading ‘Get free credits’:
- Open the Lime app;
- Tap the ‘gift icon’ on the top right. If you don’t see the icon, look for the referral options on the side menu;
- Share your referral code with friends.
Share this code with one or more friends and both receive free credit.

Lime is constantly working to make its scooters available in new cities. Lime can now be found in more than 140 cities worldwide. In Europe, these include the following places:

Via the app: in the app, navigate to the ‘Help’ in the menu and create a report.
