What are the rules for using an e-scooter in Porto?
As a driver of an electric scooter, you follow the same traffic signs as cyclists in Porto. In addition, you should take into account the following rules:
- There is no minimum age for using a share scooter;
- Possession of a driving licence is not compulsory;
- It is compulsory to wear a helmet while riding;
- It is not allowed to drive on the pavement;
- It is forbidden to ride two people on one e-scooter;
- You use the cycle path and when it is not present, you use the carriageway;
- A maximum speed of 25 km/h (the maximum speed of a share scooter) applies;
- It is forbidden to use a phone, headphones or wireless earphones while driving.
