Renting an electric scooter in Turin: the rules, options and costs
Since 2020, it has been possible for tourists to discover Turin by electric scooter. There are several possibilities to use these electric two-wheelers during a city trip.

The rules for using an e-scooter in Turin
As a driver of an electric scooter in Italy, you follow the same traffic rules as cyclists. Here are the most important rules for tourists:
- The minimum age for using an e-scooter is 16 years;
- There is no driving licence requirement;
- A helmet requirement applies to drivers up to 18 years of age;
- In the dark, wearing a reflective safety vest is mandatory;
- More than one person is not allowed to ride a scooter;
- Drivers use the cycle path if present, or the carriageway provided the speed limit here does not exceed 50 km/h;
- It is forbidden to drive on the pavement;
Please note that breaking one or more rules can result in a (hefty) fine. Always follow national traffic rules.
This is how you can rent an e-scooter as a tourist
There are two ways to rent an electric scooter:
- Rent a scooter for a day(part) through a local rental company. In some cases, you have the option to book this in combination with a tour.
- Make use of an electric share scooter.
Rent an e-scooter for a half day

Make use of a share scooter
The second option is to use an electric share scooter. You can find these vehicles throughout the city. Using a mobile app, you create an account and unlock a scooter.
