The rules for using an e-scooter in Seville
As a driver of an electric scooter in Seville, you will follow the same traffic rules as cyclists. In addition, you should take into account the following conditions:
- There is no minimum age for using an electric scooter;
- Possession of a driving licence is not compulsory;
- It is not compulsory to wear a helmet, but it is recommended;
- A reflective safety vest is mandatory in bad weather;
- You use the cycle path. If the cycle path is missing, you use the carriageway;
- You cannot ride two people on one e-scooter;
- You must not drive on the pavement, in tunnels or in pedestrian areas;
- Using a phone, headphones or wireless earphones while driving is prohibited.
This is how you can rent an e-scooter as a tourist
There are two ways to rent an electric scooter:
- Rent a scooter for a day(part) through a local rental company. In some cases, you have the option to book this in combination with a tour.
- Make use of an electric share scooter.
Rent an e-scooter for a half day
Several local rental companies allow you to rent an e-scooter for a fixed period. In this case, you pay in advance for the number of hours you want to use the vehicle. The average rental price in Seville is £10.56 per hour.

The second option is to use an electric share scooter. You can find these vehicles throughout the city. Using a mobile app, you create an account and unlock a scooter.

The largest provider in Seville is Voi. To use a Voi scooter, you pay a starting rate and a per-minute fee. You pay £0.88 to unlock a vehicle. You then pay (on average) £0.18 per minute.
