As an electric rental scooter driver in Frankfurt, you largely follow the same traffic rules as cyclists. In addition, keep the following in mind:
- The minimum age to ride an e-scooter is 14 years;
- Possession of a driving licence is not compulsory all over Germany;
- It is not compulsory to wear a helmet;
- You should use the cycle path. If it is not there, you use the carriageway;
- It is forbidden to ride an e-scooter on the pavement or in pedestrian zones;
- For persons under 21, there is an outright ban on alcohol. For persons aged 21 or over, a maximum of 0.5 promille applies.
